Welcome to Guatemala! We are spending a total of 6 weeks in the beautiful San Antonio Aguascalientes and Antigua area. We are working with a fantastic team of God’s servants at Hope/Worship Room ministry! Here’s a rundown of what goes on in a week with Team Happy Feet:

SUNDAY: We are blessed to have Sundays as our sabbath, so we do according to the Lord’s leading for resting in Him!

MONDAY: We have a bright and early wake up call for breakfast at 6:15am so that we can hop on the chicken bus(U.S. school buses converted and painted to be public transportation here) by 7:10am. It’s usually a 45 minute ride into Antigua from where we live in San Antonio, with lots of stops leading to squishing 3 to a seat and standing room only. Then we arrive at Serve Hope Cafe to spend time in the Prayer Room, focusing on an attribute of God. We’ll have a break before launching into intercessory training, which blows our minds every week. We take the chicken bus back to San Antonio for lunch on the go, and then we assist with English classes for the kids at Hope Garden. Our ministry day ends at 4:30pm, which leaves the evening open for attending Vision Night with the ministry team or relaxing at home.

TUESDAY: Mornings are more laid back with a wake up call for breakfast is at 8:00am and then ministry team Bible study at Hope Garden at 9:30am. The Lord speaks a lot during this time together, and aligns our hearts with His before we head to visit local families in their homes. We break for lunch at home, then return to the Garden at 1:45pm for VBS with the kiddos! Come 4:30pm we are exhausted but so fulfilled. The rest of the evening is relaxing and quality team time.

WEDNESDAY: Another laid back morning with breakfast at 8am so we can venture to Antigua before 10am gendered Bible studies. The women’s is called Flourish based on Psalm 1, and the men’s is called Forest. We break for lunch on the go as we make our way back to San Antonio in time for 1:45pm ministry at Hope Garden. We split up to serve in the women’s Bible study, house visits, or the music academy. 4:30pm is the end of the day, and we’ll spend the evening relaxing and quality team time again.

THURSDAY: The other bright and early wake up call for breakfast at 6:15am to once again hop on the chicken bus by 7:15am to Antigua. We spend the morning in the Prayer Room interceding for Israel. And boy does the Holy Spirit move in that room! We break to have team time and then have freedom to roam Antigua all afternoon. The team reconvenes at Serve Hope Cafe at 4:30pm to align with the Lord’s heart before setting up the whole cafe for Worship Night starting at 6:30pm. The Holy Spirit rains down as we spend the next few hours worshipping our worthy Father! Once packed up by 9pm, we head to the local street food hotspot to fill our bellies before heading home.

FRIDAY: The last 8am wake-up call for breakfast to fuel us up before spending the day with soccer ministry. We arrive at Hope Garden by 9am for soccer technique drills and a game with the teenagers, break for lunch, and return at 1:45pm for soccer with the younger kids. The ministry team is intentional with pouring into the groups by carving out time to share a devotional. We are done for the day by 4:30pm and have Friday Funday for team time in the evening!

SATURDAY: This is our Adventure day, which means we can explore the local city or venture to a different part of the country. Some of us have traveled to the beach for an afternoon, and we have a trip to a beautiful lake planned soon. The other weekends have been spent locally exploring or hanging out with people from the ministry team!

The Lord has been so good to us with this schedule! We are busy but loving every moment serving with this ministry. The ministry team is constantly seeking God’s will and pouring into us from His cup that overflows. We are receiving, stretching, growing, and pouring back out in a beautiful cycle. Our hearts are clay in the Potter’s hands.

  1. I love hearing about the day to day lives of the racers. Sounds like you have a good balance of ministry, time with the Lord, rest and exploring. Can’t wait to meet up soon.

  2. Thanks for sharing the daily routine, I love hearing about those details. It’s delightful to see how much growth has taken place in such a short time!
